NEWS NEWS NEWS PAST PRESENT & FUTURE
Assessing the political climate at this time is like watching the thermometer in the Fall. Pay close attention because it is up and down a lot. Governor Romney is making some wise moves and as this thermometer heats up let's be working on taking advantage of all of our opportunities. Speak Out! Speak Up!
In Needham I am seeing much enthusiasm from many new faces in the party. It is a great feeling being a Republican in Massachusetts right now.
To recap the 4th of July: Our float was a joy to behold. There was a flower garden of young happy faces and bare foot children. Signs of Reading Republicans and it's advantages all over the entire float. Thanks to Dan & Claire Tibma, Bob & Barbara Downs, Kathy Whitney, Mark Sarro, Leslie and Nick Renzulli and Ron & Alice Morrison. How great it was to have such a good, hard-working crew. In the background Ann Banker and Sharon Gosman helped to get the kids together and did all the work prior to building the float. A heartfelt thanks to all of you.
We are working on a new board and new programs for the fall. Be sure to keep track of our programs and please volunteer your ideas and time to make this a really productive organization. This is the year to do it!
On September 24, the NRTC elected a new Chairman. Mark Sarro, the very successful Romney Town Chairman, was elected to replace Greg Casey. Make sure you support Mark in coming elections. Many hands make light work and win elections too! We will miss Greg and thank him for his long service.
October 4th is Needham Harvest Fair on the Town Common. We will be selling popcorn again and need help! PLEASE volunteer by calling Alice at 781-444-7697.
I regret to tell you our beloved Secretary Betty Quinn passed away. Her memorial service will be held on October 4, 2003 at 11:00am at the Presbyterian Church, 1458 Great Plain Avenue, Needham. Betty will be greatly missed.
Our first meeting of the season will not be in Needham. The MFRW Fall Meeting will be on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at the Lexington Sheraton. We are so proud the Federation has asked Kim Hinden, one of our new members, to be the guest speaker. Kim heads up the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles.
It will be an interesting day. Lets work on getting a really large number of people to support Kim and show pride in our club. Call Alice for directions and to arrange car pools. 782-444-7697.
VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
Don't forget the Town Election on November 4, 2003. Concerning the high school override....whatever your feeling on this subject voting is your duty. Have your voice known.
