It's March and Spring is here. April 14 elections are just around the corner. We have 2 candidates, members of our Town Committee, running for higher office.
Jim Healy is running for Selectman. Jim is a very qualified candidate and needs your support. Ford Peckham, a candidate for Commissioner of Trust Funds, has served on the finance committee. He is equally qualified. They both have opposition.
Make sure you vote! It is very important. Every vote counts in a Town election.
VOTE on April 14th.
Check your precinct. If it is short on requisite candidates for Town Meeting Members, organize a write in campaign and become a Town Meeting Member yourself. Good Luck!
On Tuesday, April 29th, the Massachusetts Federation of Republican Women is holding Legislative Day at the State House. Plan on attending.
You can meet the Republican leadership and other legislators.
A program of bills of importance to Republicans and Women will be on the agenda.
Governor Romney will be invited to drop in if his schedule allows. This day is always interesting. A light lunch will be served. Call 781-444-7697 for reservations. You will hear more on this later.
We have such exciting news about our Cooks Bridge Library Project. I received a note from Hilde Smith, (NFRW) The 2003 National Federation President congratulating us. She hopes she can fit a story on this in the "Republican Women" National Magazine.
Our state Chairman is equally excited. We are planning on meeting some Saturday in the near future in the Community Room with Cheryl Gosman to see first hand what we are committed to, and to set up reading schedules.
A project is never any better than the person in charge. To that end we are very grateful to Anne Banker for the great job she is doing.
Anna Meisner, our very newest member, is working hard to have a "WE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" Rally on the Needham Town Common, March 23rd at 4pm.
If you can come and join the crowd, she would like to see you. Bring a candle to light.
If you want to help Anna, call her at 781-449-7278. A short program is being planned. Linda Muckerheide is helping Anna but many hands make light work.
SUPPORT OUR BRAVE TROOPS!
We have a long list of new members we hope will become active in any way they choose. We welcome our new members. It is good to have you join us.
Looking forward to June? Don't forget to sign up for the popcorn sale at the NBA Sidewalk Sale. It is more fun than work. If you have time, we need you.
Next in line is the 4th of July float. I know it is early, but you have to start early for a float. We have signed up a few workers already, but can always use more.
