Massachusetts Federation of Republican Women - Fall 2005 Newsletter

From the President's Desk

Dear Members,

I started planning this newsletter on Southwest Airlines, on my way back from the NFRW Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. Thank you for sending me to represent our Massachusetts Clubs. Marion Holbrook, President of Franklin County RWC, Jane Gupta of Middlesex RWC, along with Phyllis Johansen and Marsha Saltmarsh of Winchester RWC, represented our Clubs very well. I was proud to be part of our delegation.

It was inspiring and uplifting to be with nearly 2,000 Republican women from all over our great country. The meetings and workshops were great! There were outstanding speakers - Senator Lamar Alexander, Senator Bill Frist, Retired General Thomas Carter, and Tennessee Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn. They each strongly support our dedicated President, George W. Bush, and asked us to do the same. We live in difficult times; however, we must persevere. We have a choice: freedom or tyranny. Freedom must win.

Our local clubs are also going through transitional times. Together, we can face the challenges and grow. As your new President, I'm learning the ropes from former Presidents and all the great leaders in our Clubs. I appreciate your support and help.

Please support each other and attend our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, October 12, 11 a.m., at the historic Winchester Country Club. We've planned a great time for all. Carpool to save on gas, and enjoy each other's company. As the bumper sticker on my daughter's car says, "Republican Women Are the Life of the Party."
