Massachusetts Federation of Republican Women - Winter 2005 Newsletter

A Message from the Chairman

We asked Darrell Crate, Chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party, to comment on the recent elections and the state of the Republican Party in Massachusetts, and for guidelines on making our campaign efforts more effective:

I appreciate all that Massachusetts Federation of Republican Women does to further the cause of the Republican Party in our great state.

I am grateful for all of the support the Massachusetts Republican Party has received over the last two years and the many friends who have pledged to help the party in 2005 and beyond. The party has come a long way since the Governor assumed the corner office and we've involved candidates, activists and donors who had never been active in party politics. They're involved because we're trying to make Massachusetts a better place for all citizens, from all walks of life.

I thank the candidates who ran great campaigns this past summer and fall under the banner of the Republican Party — they made us proud. I also appreciate the hard work of many volunteers and that of Governor Romney and Lt. Governor Healy, both of whom supported the party and its candidates every step of the way in 2004.

I thank the State Committee members for their continued support and contributions of thoughts, ideas and suggestions.

The party has built a solid foundation of support over the last two years — particularly with the help of groups like the MFRW. Good things will come with a balance of power on Beacon Hill and we're more determined than ever to get there. We've established a great base upon which we can build a bright future for Massachusetts Republicans and I hope you will join me in this effort.
