Massachusetts Federation of Republican Women - Winter 2008 Newsletter
From the President's Desk
Dear Members and Friends:
Our Annual Meeting in October was
hosted by the Winchester Republican
Women's Club. Guest speakers
were the Honorable Peter Torkildsen,
Chairman of the Massachusetts Republican
Party, Lt. Col. Jim Oganowski
and Jane Lane, Vice President
of N.F.R.W. A big "thank you" to the
W.R.W.C. for their hospitality and
support.
Let's meet in Worcester on Saturday,
April 12, 2008 for the Annual Lincoln
Luncheon hosted by the Women's
Republican Club of Worcester County
(invitation to follow).
Please mark your calendars for our
Annual Meeting, to be hosted by the
Middlesex Republican Women's Club,
on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at
11:00 a.m. Festivities will include
installation of officers, outstanding
Republican candidates for election,
plus a delicious luncheon at the
Westford Regency Convention Center.
The 2008 Presidential Election is well underway. I trust you all participated
in the Massachusetts Republican
Primary. Super Tuesday revealed
that Senator John McCain had more
support in the larger states than our
Governor Romney.
I stayed up late hoping for better
news for Mitt; however, it wasn't
meant to be this election cycle.
Truthfully, I felt sad and disappointed.
However, I'm proud of the great
speech Governor Romney made to
explain the suspension of his campaign
for the good of the Party. He's
a great leader and made me feel
proud of the race he ran. I'm hopeful
he'll run for President again after
Senator John McCain, an outstanding American hero, wins and completes
his term of office as our next
President. Our country needs strong
Republican leadership during these
difficult times. Senators Clinton and
Obama are not prepared to lead our
great nation. Let's join ranks and do all we can to elect John McCain
President of the United States of America.
As President Abraham Lincoln
stated, "A house divided against itself
cannot stand."
Respectfully yours,
Carol L. Sneden
