Middlesex Republican Women honor two of its veterans
Middlesex Republican Women honored two of its members who served in the military, at a meeting on November 7 in Westford, at the home of Ms. Georjann McGaha, club president.
Ms. Shirley McLaughlin of Dracut was recognized for her service as an Army nurse during WWII. She served in the Pacific Theater in Australia, New Guinea, and Dutch East Indies, achieving the rank of 1st lieutenant.
Ms. Olga Symes of Billerica was a colonel in the Army Nurse Corps, serving in the 12th EVAC Hospital in CuChi, Viet Nam.
