Response From the Military

[The Middlesex Women's Republican Club recently reached out out to the military with a care package. Here is the exchange. It makes wonderful reading!]

Thank you again, yea, Kansas is pretty well known for crazy weather, I'm from Atlanta GA, so I really don't like the weather there myself. The weather here has got really warm fast, heading into the 90s this week, so summer will be the worst. My men and I are doing well and pretty soon I will have a website that I will email you so that you can see the men you take care of.

Dear Sean,

I was really pleased to receive your letter and to know that the package of books arrived safely. The members of the Middlesex Republican Women's Club expressed their support of you and your Company through their donations. They hope that their selections of books were what you and your buddies wanted and would enjoy.

Here in the States, anyone who reads about Iraq and listens carefully to the news reports realizes that our military is doing their job efficiently and well. We know that there are and always will be people who seek attention by making stupid statements opposing such efforts as yours.

The only time that my husband and I were in Kansas, we were outrunning an on-coming tornado. Not a very good memory! I know it's a good place to live and work and farm and I am certain you would like to be there now.

But you should see New England! Before I retired, I often went on business trips to the western part of the U.S. and have been surprised by how green New England is. I am looking forward to the end of the cold winter weather (in about 2-3 weeks) and the trees start budding and the grass growing.

Please know that we support your efforts for our beloved country. You and your C Company are in our prayers. Stay safe and write again when you can.
